The trap with the flag closed is 30" long with a 20" base on both the cross and fold up styles. With the trap opened up sitting on the ice, the 4 ½" x 4" flag stands 3 feet off the ice. The flag is operated by a stainless steel spring with a stainless flag rod. I have been told from professional guide services that the Indian Hill anti wind flag trip system is the smoothest and the best on the market. The stainless steel trip tube is packed with grease and also includes a safety lock for flag storage. The spool is 3" in diameter, made from heavy gage aluminum, and holds 450 feet of line. Holding the spool on the trap is a 1/4-20 stainless steel carriage bolt with a nylock wing nut and spring drag system that can be used when fishing larger baits. All the hardware on the trap is 18-8 stainless steel or brass to ensure many years of no nonsense fishing. To finish it off, the trap is made of oak that is sealed with a water proofer.
